Wrapping Up 2015: Oct - Dec

HALLOWEEN

Halloween wore me out! I walked the neighborhoods with Dan, who dressed as the Disney Princess Mulan, and her friend Peyton (Queen of Hearts), and these girls were determined to cover as much ground as possible. We were out for 2 hours and brought home an insane amount of sugar!

The boys are to the age where it's not cool to trick or treat with parents, so they hung with these neighborhood characters. Gotta love re-using costumes; Alex was the Scream and it was a Morph again for Linc.

BEACH

In mid November I took 4 days to go the Blue Canoe to do a periodic beach house restock/house shape up. I washed all linens (comforters, couch cushions, etc.); I lost count after 10 loads. Also, I pulled weeds and picked up trash around the property, touch up painted, drained the hot water heater, did minor repairs requiring a screw driver and hammer (yeah me!), made trips to stores to replace missing/damaged items, and wiped, scrubbed, vacuumed and repeated.

The weather was gorgeous, and I took some breaks to enjoy it. Having some just 'me' time was good, but I wished there was someone there to share this special place with!

THANKSGIVING

We introduced Tom and Jan to the lake house and squeezed in a boat ride, (sadly, Juno's last) before the rain started.

The kids got lessons in target practice with an Airsoft gun, and no one shot their eye out!

A fun and delicious Thanksgiving dinner was spent at the Harris', just down the lake.

GramE and Gramps left with the kids while we ripped out the carpet and put down new flooring in the upstairs bunk room. It was pretty easy and we're happy with the end product; fingers crossed it'll be durable and long lasting.

Before

After

We got a ton of rain again, and now we've set a record for annual rainfall. The lake level rose so much it went over the dock and tore some cleats from the dock, so Scott had to make a trip there to secure the boat and check on everything.

HOLIDAY FESTIVITIES

Here's Linc during his holiday concert.

Alex made his theater debut in the Christmas classic (ha!) 'Attack of the Pom Pom Zombies'! His Advanced Drama class put on the play and he had three performances. He played the part of Waldo (ya know, 'Where's Waldo?') and had a few lines and is really enjoying the class.

One of the several Christmas' we celebrated was an early one with Grandma Carolyn and Dan; seeing the Prestonwood church Gift of Christmas show; it was spectacular!!

Later that night we attended Francesca Battistelli's Christmas Tour concert at a local church, thanks to my friend Kim who was unable to use her tickets. Scott, Danica and I had second row seats- it was a fantastic show as well!  My spirit was certainly filled after that day!

Next Up: Colorado Christmas!
