It's Fall Y'All!

Fall means:
  • Family Visits:
Carolyn sold her house near Austin in anticipation of retiring in January. She purchased a home about 45 minutes away from us, in Greenville and stopped here for a quick overnight while working on details of getting her house up and running.
A intense Bingo game
My parents stayed a day longer than usual so Scott and I could make a quick flight to Port Aransas (one hour fly time is way easier than 7 driving!). We were there for the inspection and did at final walk through. The place was in the final stages of detail work and getting some finishing touches put on. The town was much quieter than our last trip in August, some businesses had even closed for the season.  Beautiful weather.

It's key lime green!

In our absence Danica and Gramma handled pie-making and Halloween decorating (Danica dominated the decor choices),

while Grampa managed meatball-making and spinning children, all while shirtless, of course!

  • Triathlon
Lincoln participated in a kids tri. He finished 5th in the 10 year old age group and 9th overall, out of 160 kids.  Scott and Alex didn't miss participating, but Danica says next year it's her turn.

  • Poison Ivy
Alex caught a bad case of it from playing in the woods. Seems that he is super sensitive to it, like his dad. Poor guy, it was on his face and so irritated and scabbed. He was so embarrassed and asked to miss school. Scott and Linc got a rash as well, but three weeks later, everyone's stopped itching and are healed.

  • Closing on the Beach House!
After the inevitable mortgage/insurance closing problems (we don't get it; since people buy houses every day shouldn't they have the kinks worked out?!), we signed and notarized the documents here. Scott loaded up (literally) the truck-and with Domino as co-pilot headed to the place.

He set up cable and Internet, hung TVs, built 2 sets of bunk beds (one took 8 hours!) and had mattresses and appliances delivered.  Domino acted pretty nervous and uneasy in the empty new place; Juno missed him at home, she's moped around and even left her food bowl full (well, just for a short while.)
