Summer's Feverish Start

Fourth grade was tough!! Lots of at homework, tons of writing, projects and increased standardized testing. In the final weeks the boys had a famous Texans project where they were assigned a famous Texan, whom they researched, made a scrapbook of their life, then dressed up as their Texan and gave a speech about their life.

Mrs. Richardson, the most incredible Kindergarten teacher!

No doubt we're all ready for a break. If you haven't read this blog, this woman is my hero..(http://jenhatmaker.com/blog/2013/05/30/worst-end-of-school-year-mom-ever).

Day one of summer vacation found Danica with a 103 degree temp, lasting 4 days. She missed a day of gymnastics camp, then 3 days later Lincoln came down with the same. Now on day four, we're praying he turns the corner tomorrow; plus he has a soccer camp all week! I can tell it's going to take some juggling working part time from the church and some from home, kids in and out of activities and Scott traveling.

We squeezed in an end of season pool party for Lincoln's FC Jaguars soccer team, who came in 1st place in the soccer tournament, and they played "up" an age bracket --vs. 11 yr olds.

'World Cup' action in the yard

Linc was our first guest kid chef of summer and prepared flat bread pizzas and banana pudding  with Nilla wafers for dessert. Yum!

Nearly every day the pool's getting used, often more than once, and today they got creative by adding the sprinkler.

Action!

Happy Father's Day to my dad, a pretty spectacular guy. What a blessing to have him for my dad! Love you!  To the dad of my kids- I love you! I'm thankful for you and that we're doing this thing together. I do love you so very much. Sorry our day wasn't over the top exciting due to a sick kid, but enjoy your ipad mini!
