Our summer started a little rough. Last week, the boys' new electric scooters were stolen. They rode them to a friends house, just one street away, parked them on the front sidewalk while they swam in his pool and an hour and a half later the scooters were gone. Nothing has turned up since I sent a neighborhood email and filed a police report. Understandably, Lexi and Linc were very upset and learned a hard life lesson. Just plain stinks.
Today, our frog died. Pepper is now swimming with his buddy, Salt who went to the big bowl in the sky about six weeks ago. Danica bawled, Lincoln giggled at her and Scott cheered.
Ironically, Danica has been learning the frog kick at her first official swim lessons! She's also working on the crawl, backstroke and diving. Not crazy about lessons but she's improving. This week is also vacation bible school so she's out like a light when her head hits the pillow.
Alex was thrilled to be chosen to play on the baseball all-star team; Linc was not thrilled not to be chosen but overall was a good sport. He's not too distraught (see below) over losing, 18-21. Scott was bummed to miss the game as he's finishing up his fourth and final week of job training in Tennessee. More baseball on deck this week as Alex attends a baseball camp at the high school.
