1461 Days Old!! (That's 4 Years)

I'll never forget the day we got our girl! We'd guessed our third child was going to be a boy, but the Operating Room erupted with applause when Dr. Tricia (who'd also delivered L&A) announced it was a girl! We decided the name Danica suited her and from those first moments on, she was such a mellow, quiet and happy baby. What a joy, blessing and perfect completion to our family. I've made it a tradition to decorate the kids bedroom doorway for their birthday morning; what else says "I'm special" than crepe paper, ribbon or balloons?! Little D woke up to: Gifts were opened first thing; an adorable and impressive handmade raincoat from GramE, as well as a hat, scarves and not handmade(!) rain boots. An art easel from GG & Grampa, gift cards and cash, princess books and necessities and doll accessories also were excitedly opened. She enjoyed having Scott & I teach her her church class, then going for donuts. Having a hard time choosing where to go for her birthday dinner, she decided on somewhere 'fancy' because she wanted to get dressed up. Finally, we settled on The Purple Cow, a kid-oriented diner where dressed up princesses wearing a hat, scarf, rain jacket and sparkly tennis shoes are served. In other news, we finally got to go camping again! Earlier this fall we took the pop up in for it's one year warranty work, and as soon as we brought it home the motor on the roof motor broke, making it a non-pop up. We just got the new motor back and installed, so headed out for a quick two night trip on Thursday and Friday to Lake Texoma. The campground was quiet and the daytime weather was nice. It was windy and stormy Thursday night, then a cold front blew in New Year's Eve and it got in the 20's overnight. BRR!! We were grateful we'd made that 8 PM Wal-Mart run for a radiant heater and between that two heaters it stayed pretty comfortable inside. Domino enjoyed himself immensely with all the new sights, sounds and smells.
